The psychedelic genius behind the Floyd's early works, he left to follow a solo career which spawned only two albums. They are both flawed masterpieces entrenched in simplistic charm. Barrett quickly became one of the most notable "acid-casualties" and sank without trace in 1971.
His legend has always haunted the band he left and strangely, during the recording of "Wish You Were Here", he mysteriously walked into their studios. Since then, he has remained a recluse, shrouded from the public gaze by his family.
