Born Otis Hicks on 13th March 1913 near St. Louis. Died of cancer on 27th July 1974
in Detroit.

Learnt to play guitar in his mid thirties. Started working the clubs of Baton
Rouge in 1946. Made his first recordings in 1954 for Feature and Ace. By the sixties
had moved to Louisiana, where he grew up, and started working with Slim Harpo. Had
several years without recording until he was signed by Excello in 1972. The sessions
were produced by Mike Vernon in London with British musicians.
