Oz was, to say the least, groundbreaking. It broke every boundary that magazines up to that time had refused to cross. Nothing was considered too far out to publish, a fact that unfortunately led to it falling foul of the law. The magazine and its editors were charged with obscenity and found guilty. After that, nothing was ever the same.

Sex, drugs, anarchy and much more was covered in its psychedelic, sometimes near impossible to read pages but in the late 1960s and early 70s, it was the most exciting magazine on the planet. For nearly two years at secondary school, I sold it to my fellow pupils - along with the Little Red Schoolbook and membership of the N.U.S.S. (National Union Of School Students). My schoolmates called me "druggie" and the teachers called me subversive. I do wonder why.

Some of these are my original copies from the time but as I now carry a complete set of digital copies on my iPad, I can finally let go of them.
